SPJ-FIU hosted their 3rd annual Listen, Learn and Connect media conference with panel discussions and workshops.

The panelists were Jenise Fernandez, WPLG Reporter; Lorena Estrada, WSVN Reporter and David Smiley, The Miami Herald Reporter.

The three journalists went back in time to speak about their experience as an FIU journalism student.

In addition, they spoke about their journey of landing a job after graduation.

After a break, FIU's SJMC student, Matias Ocner, showed his online portfolio to students. He gave tips on what to include and what not to include.

SJMC professor, Neil Reisner, critiqued one of the student's resume and cover letter to provide insight in what is expected at a job interview, or the time to apply for a career-related job.
