Natalie Merola
Student Adviser
Natalie Lynne Merola is a senior at Florida International University studying digital media and providing creative content for WPBT/Channel 2′s online initiative uVu. Merola has a strong expertise in videography and photography, and is currently revisiting news writing in order to develop a well-rounded reporting style. As an avid sewing junkie, Merola considers Betsey Johnson her fashion queen. Merola notes that Johnson inspires her to pursue reporting in the field of fashion design.
Michael Sharp
Marketing Co-Director
Originally from Queens, N.Y., is a senior at Florida International University, majoring in journalism and mass communication. He is currently interning at the Miami Herald and has published articles for them, the Sun Sentinel, Palm Beach Post and the South Florida News Service.
Camilo Londono
Lead Web Editor
A student at FIU’s SJMC who’s majoring in journalism, Londono’s work is greatly influcenced by literature, music and design. After graduating in May 2014, he plans to attend graduate school for creative direction. His interests include the visual arts, reading, playing tennis and skateboarding.Londono has published in the Miami Herald and Palm Beach Post.
Alexandra Lopez
Secretary
Alexandra Lopez is a senior at Florida International University majoring in Broadcast Journalism and International Relations. She is hoping to graduate by Fall 2014 and pursue a career in broadcast journalism where she can contribute valuable knowledge to today’s hot topics. Lopez is fluent in both Spanish and English. Over the years she has come to value the experiences and the knowledge that traveling the world can bring to one’s live, so she travels as much and as often as she possibly can. As of right now she is searching for an internship and is the secretary for SPJ-FIU
Julia Duba
Co-Director of Alumni Relations
Julia Duba is a graduate of Florida International University holding a Bachelor’s in Journalism. Duba is a producer and freelance reporter for WLRN, the National Public Radio station for South Florida. During her time at FIU, she was a staff writer, copy editor and a section editor for The Beacon, FIU’s newspaper service. Duba also worked with the South Florida News Service as a multimedia reporter. Duba has a passion for public radio and reporting on issues that matter to the South Florida community, and was the former director of marketing for FIU SPJ Chapter. She is the current co-director of Alumni Relations for the FIU SPJ Chapter.
