Zombie Stories

Michael Koretzky, the region 3 Society of Professional Journalists director, said journalism schools do not teach interviewing. “If you go to med school, they teach you how to give a shot, if you go to music school, they teach you chord progression, but when you go to journalism school, they never teach how to do one of the most basic things –talking to someone else,” said Koretzky. On March 27, the FIU chapters of SPJ and ABJ hosted “Zombie Stories,” an interviewing competition, Koretzky hosted a year ago in New Orleans. “Who’s the hardest person to interview? A zombie,” said Koretzky. Approximately 25 students from FIU and Florida Atlantic University came together to compete to see who would ask the best questions.
